On August 3, 2017, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced the launch of the “Anywhere to Anywhere VA Health Care” initiative to expand three current VA telehealth programs nationwide. The initiative affects VA Telehealth, VA Video Connect, and Veteran Appointment Request. Each of the three programs is already available in certain parts of the United States, but none are available nationwide. The VA intends to issue regulations to allow its VA staff physicians nationwide to use VA Video Connect, a new service that allows for web-based telehealth encounters via veterans’ smartphones, tablets, and computers regardless of their location . . .
