Exonerated New Mexico Mental Health Provider Organizations Sue Optum For False Fraud Allegations

Ten behavioral health provider organizations in New Mexico that were recently exonerated of Medicaid fraud allegations are now suing OptumHealth New Mexico, the state’s public behavioral health managed care organization (MCO) from 2009 to 2013 that made the accusations against them. The lawsuit was filed on June 23, 2016. The plaintiffs are: Border Area Mental Health, Inc.; Counseling Associates, Inc.; Easter Seals El Mirador; Families & Youth, Inc., Hogares, Inc.; Southwest Counseling Center, Inc.; Southern New Mexico Human Development, Inc.; Teambuilders Counseling Services, Inc.; The Counseling Center, Inc.; and Valencia Counseling, Inc.
