Medicaid Spending Reaches $460.5 Billion, 11.3% Higher Than 2013 Spending

Estimated total Medicaid expenditures for fiscal year 2014 were $460.5 billion, 11.3% higher than the $413.7 billion in total 2013 Medicaid expenditures. Of the $460.5 billion in Medicaid spending for 2014, $184.4 billion was from combined state general funds ($138.3 billion) and other state funds ($46.1 billion).  The remaining $275.9 billion was federal Medicaid matching funds.
