Florida Telemedicine Bill To Allow Out-Of-State Physicians To Practice

The Florida legislature is considering a telemedicine measure that will allow out-of-state physicians to provide services to Florida residents; although the Florida Medical Association (FMA) supports telemedicine, it opposes the measure under consideration. Florida allows telemedicine services, but currently requires that the professionals providing telemedicine services hold a Florida license (although exemptions are available for health care professionals employed by sports teams visiting the state for a specific sports event).
