Four Jurisdictions Selected For New ‘Opt-In for Families’ Initiative To Create Prevention-Oriented Child Welfare Systems
On March 11, 2024, the Doris Duke Foundation (DDF) launched a four-jurisdiction initiative to reimagine how child welfare systems can transform to become prevention-oriented child well-being systems in the District of Columbia, Kentucky, Oregon, and South Carolina. The three-year initiative is called Opportunities for Prevention & Transformation (Opt-in for Families). The initiative will connect vulnerable families to community-based services and supports to ensure child safety, keep families together, and prevent unnecessary child welfare involvement.
