Georgia Transitions Children In Foster Care To Specialized Medicaid Managed Care Plan
On March 3, 2014, the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) launched Georgia Families 360°, a new Medicaid Care Management Organization (CMO) for children in foster care or receiving adoption assistance, and for select youth in the juvenile justice system. More than 27,000 children in this population have been transitioned from fee-for-service Medicaid to Georgia Families 360°.
Georgia Families 360° is an outgrowth of Georgia's 2011 Medicaid redesign initiative. The goal was to better coordinate care and continuity for children in foster care; children and youth receiving adoption assistance; and certain youth involved in the juvenile . . .
