Google Changes Health Care Search Display To Feature Fact-Checked Results
On February 10, 2015, Google announced it was implementing a new approach to displaying results to health searches that will feature fact-checked information from the Google Knowledge Graph system as the first listing. The goal is to help consumers find clinically accurate information about common medical conditions. The Knowledge Graph is an algorithm-based structured display of information using data points merged from many sources; Google uses the Knowledge Graph system to organize information about common search topics. In the announcement, Google noted that about 20% of all searches are health related.
