Half Of Households With Health Insurance Subsidy Owe Repayment, 45% Will Get Refund
Half of households (50%) that received a 2014 tax subsidy to buy health coverage under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) are estimated to owe repayment to the federal government. Conversely, 45% of households are expected to get a refund.
In total, 3% to 5% of all U.S. households that filed taxes for 2014 are expected to have some adjustment to the PPACA tax credits for 2014, representing 4.5 to 7.5 million households.
