Average Health Care Wages Slightly Higher Than Other U.S. Sectors For Similar Education Levels & Work Responsibilities
Health care sector wages in the United States are slightly higher (3%) than wages in other sectors for workers with similar qualifications, based on education and work responsibility. However, non-professional health care workers in nursing homes and similar settings earn about 10% less than similarly skilled counterparts in other industry sectors. Professional health care workers, such as physicians and nurses, earn 40% to 50% more than similarly skilled counterparts in other industry sectors.
