Home-Based Cardiac Rehabilitation Reduced Hospitalizations
Home-based cardiac rehabilitation (HBCR) is associated with fewer all-cause hospitalizations at 12 months than center-based cardiac rehabilitation (CBCR). Compared with those who participated in CBCR, individuals who received HBCR had 21% less chance of hospitalization after 12 months. In a study with more than 2,500 participants over a 12-month follow-up period, 14.8% of those who participated in HBCR and 18.1% of those who participated in CBCR were hospitalized. There were no significant differences between HBCR and CBCR in 30- or 90-day all-cause or cardiovascular disease-related hospitalization.
