Between 2018 and 2022, the number of hospitals offering digital remote patient monitoring (RPM) services for post-discharge care or chronic care management increased by 40.3%, according to a recent study of 5,644 hospitals.

Digital RPM includes technology devices consumers can use at home to collect and transmit vital sign data, including blood pressure, heart rate, or weight. In 2018, 1,364 hospitals offered RPM. By 2022, 1,797 hospitals offered RPM services.
