Ingham County, Michigan, To Spend $62.5 Million On New Juvenile Facility

The Ingham County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on November 12 to approve spending up to $62.5 million to build a new, 24-bed juvenile detention facility, according to news reports. The new facility will be funded with money from the Juvenile Justice Millage, which county voters last approved in August 2022. The state also provided the county with $12.5 million to use in building the new facility.
