IRS Investigating Tax-Exempt Status Of Non-Profit Organization Good Days
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is investigating the non-profit organization Good Days, formerly known as Chronic Disease Fund, which provides financial assistance to low-income consumers who are not able to afford medications to treat chronic diseases, cancer, and other conditions. The IRS is investigating because the non-profit is primarily funded by donations from the same pharmaceutical and biotech companies that manufacture the medications for which the non-profit provides assistance to consumers.
An IRS analysis found that in 2011, about 95% of the $129.3 million Good Days spent for copayment support went to consumers prescribed medications . . .
