Kansas Delays Plans To Consolidate HCBS Waiver Programs Into Managed Care
On October 6, 2015, the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) and Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) announced the state would delay the target implementation state by six months for the state’s plan to integrate seven Medicaid home- and community-based services (HCBS) waivers into the KanCare managed care program. Implementation had been planned for July 2016; it has been delayed until January 2017.
The goal is to create a new 1115 waiver that would integrate seven individual 1915(c) HCBS Medicaid waivers into the state’s Section 1115 KanCare demonstration with two service packages . . .
