Kansas Medicaid To End SMI Health Homes Initiative June 30, 2016

On January 29, 2016, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) informed stakeholders that it planned to end the Medicaid Health Home program for people with serious mental illness (SMI), effective July 1, 2016. KDHE will amend the Medicaid State Plan for the program to end June 30, 2016, just two years after the program went live. The contracted Health Home Partners (HHPs) will continue to be paid for services provided to their health home members through June 30, 2016. However, as of March 1, 2016, no new Medicaid beneficiaries will be assigned to the SMI Health Home program . . .
