L.A. Care & Contracted Plan Partners Anthem, Blue Shield, & Kaiser Plan To Implement Four Medicaid ILOS Programs in Southern California

In July 2021, L.A. Care Health Plan, and its contracted plan partners Anthem, Blue Shield, and Kaiser, began preparations to offer members in Los Angeles County, California four new Medicaid services that are medically appropriate substitutions for Medicaid benefits (known as “In Lieu of Services” (ILOS)). These new services will begin on January 1, 2022. The four new services offered across L.A. Care’s network are housing transition navigation, housing tenancy and sustaining services, recuperative care (medical respite), and meals/medically tailored meals.
