Magellan Behavioral Health Of Pennsylvania Starts As New HealthChoices BH-MCO For Somerset & Bedford Counties

Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania (Magellan) started a new contract with Behavioral Health Services of Somerset and Bedford Counties, Inc., (BHSSBC) in Pennsylvania as the region’s new Medicaid HealthChoices behavioral health managed care organization (BH-MCO) on November 1, 2025. Magellan announced the contract on November 20, 2025. The contract terms and value were not disclosed.

Community Care Behavioral Health (CCBH) was the previous contract holder. In February 2025, BHSSBC announced it was transitioning its contract from CCBH to Magellan. There are 23,134 eligible behavioral HealthChoices members in Somerset and Bedford counties.
