Maryland To Launch Pilot Program To Support Youth Involved In Foster Care/Juvenile Justice Systems
On August 1, 2014, the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) and the Department of Human Resources (DHR) announced plans to launch a pilot program for crossover youth who are involved with both the state’s juvenile justice system and the foster care system. The pilot will launch in Prince George’s County and will provide a more intense array of services and supports than those available separately through the juvenile justice or foster care systems. The state intends to expand the crossover program statewide, at a date to be determined.
