Physician Compensation Up 3.1% In 2016; Median Compensation For Outpatient Psychiatrists Tops $240K

Median physician compensation increased by an average of 3.1% in 2015, about the same as the 2.8% increase from 2013 to 2014. Median compensation for psychiatry increased by 3.4%, from $246,500 in 2015 to $254,942 in 2016.

Primary care specialists saw an increase of 3.6%, up from a decrease of 0.3% in 2014. Other medical specialties saw an average increase of 3.0%, comparable to 3.2% in 2014.
