Medicaid & CHIP Enrollment Up 20% Between September 2013 & February 2015

Between January 2014 and February 2015, enrollment in Medicaid and state Children Health Insurance Programs (CHIP) increased by 20.3%. Between July and September 2013, an average of 57.8 million people were enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP. As of February 2015, 70.5 million were enrolled. Most of the increase in enrollment, 11.1 million, occurred in 2014. Between January and February 2015, however, Medicaid and CHIP enrollment continued to rise, increasing by 561,609 in a single month.
