Medicaid Expansion Population Increases By 8.6% Between January & March 2015

From January 2015 to March 2015, the total number of people enrolled in the new Medicaid expansion adult eligibility group increased by 8.6%, from 6.3 million in January to 6.8 million in March. The expansion population represented 13.3% of the total 51.1 million Medicaid enrollees in March 2015.

During the same period of 2014, the Medicaid expansion population increased by 21%, from 3.9 million in January to 4.7 million in March. In March 2014, the expansion population represented 8.7% of the total 54.1 million Medicaid enrollees in March 2015.
