Medical Associations & EHR Vendors Seek Indefinite Delay Of Meaningful Use Stage 3

On February 17, 2017, 16 organizations spanning medical specialty associations, hospitals and health systems, and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives asked federal Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Tom Price, M.D., to indefinitely delay implementation of Stage 3 of the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Meaningful Use (MU) program.

Specifically, the signatory organizations asked HHS to delay implementation of Stage 3 measures in the MU program and Stage-3 like measures in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) program.
