The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is finalizing changes to the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP) that will make the program available on demand, according to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule for 2026. The MDPP provides beneficiaries with pre-diabetes with free coaching, peer support, dietary information, physical activity guidance, and behavior change tools to delay or prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes. The program has previously been available via in-person classes and online classes.
