Medicare Finalizes New Codes & Payment For Digital Mental Health Treatment Devices For 2025

In the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule for 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) finalized new codes and payments for digital mental health treatment (DMHT) devices. Physicians and clinical professionals authorized to furnish services for the diagnosis and treatment of mental health can bill for two new HCPCS codes. However, CMS intends to monitor how DMHT devices are used as part of overall care. Medicare will reimburse for DMHT devices at the contractor's price because it does not believe it can appropriately price all the DMHT devices that would be eligible for payment.
