Medicare Is Reviewing Five Alternative Payment Models, Some Start Dates Are Delayed
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is reviewing five Medicare alternative payment models (APMs), which has resulted in implementation delays to three APMs, cancellation of one APM component, and a change to the Medicare Part D Payment Modernization Model. CMS has not made a broad announcement about the APMs under review; the changes have been posted to the model pages. As of mid-April 2021, the affected programs include the following:
