Michigan Medicaid Planning To Expand Treatment Continuum For Addiction
The Michigan Medicaid program is planning to expand the continuum of covered addiction treatment to include residential settings, recovery coaches, and care coordination. The new addiction treatment coverage was included in the state’s Medicaid waiver proposal, “Pathway to Integration,” submitted to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on June 20. As of October 27, CMS was still considering the application.
