Michigan Reports Child Welfare Caseload Reductions In Dwayne B. Settlement Agreement
On June 10, 2018, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) reported its progress meeting child welfare system performance standards in the Dwayne B. settlement agreement exit plan during the July to December 2016 monitoring period. Caseloads were reduced for child maltreatment investigators, and for child protective services workers. MDHHS took steps to ensure school-aged children in foster care receive an education appropriate to their needs.
