Mississippi Medicaid Health Plan RFP Released

On February 3, 2017, the Mississippi Division of Medicaid released a request for proposals (RFP 20170203) seeking a contractor to administer the Mississippi Coordinated Access Network (MississippiCAN), a full-risk managed care program for Mississippi Medicaid beneficiaries. The MississippiCAN plans receive a prepaid monthly capitation payment to cover all Medicaid state plan services and inpatient hospital care; the plans can also offer extra benefits such as vision and physician visit benefits.

This procurement is a rebid. The current MississippiCAN contracts with Magnolia Health and UnitedHealthcare were implemented on January 1, 2011, and expire on June 30, 2017.
