Mississippi Submits Extension Request For 1115 ‘Healthier Mississippi’ Waiver Program For Non-Medicare Aged, Blind & Disabled Population
On October 31, 2022, Mississippi submitted a request to extend its current Medicaid 1115 "Healthier Mississippi" Waiver (HMW) demonstration for beneficiaries who are aged, blind, or disabled (ABD), but not eligible for Medicare. The state seeks a five-year extension from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2028. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will accept comments on the request through November 30, 2022.
The HMW offers Medicaid coverage of all state plan services except for long-term care services, maternity, or newborn care to ABD individuals who are not enrolled in Medicare and are not otherwise eligible . . .
