Missouri Medicaid Health Plan Contracts Out For Bid; Statewide Expansion Planned

On April 29, 2016, the Missouri Department of Social Service, MO HealthNet Division released a request for proposals (RFPS30034901600685) seeking Medicaid managed care organizations for contracts for statewide expansion of the MO HealthNet Medicaid managed care program. Currently, the three MO HealthNet MCOs – Aetna, Centene, and WellCare – serve 54 counties under contracts that started on July 1, 2015. The state intends to implement Medicaid managed care statewide in all 114 counties by May 2017 under the new RFP. Proposals are due by July 1, 2016. No proposed contract value was stated in the announcement.
