Molina Healthcare Of Michigan Partners With Common Ground On Behavioral Health Crisis Diversion Program

Molina Healthcare of Michigan, which serves people eligible for Medicare and Medicaid in Michigan, is partnering with non-profit Common Ground in Genesee County to provide outpatient behavioral health crisis intervention to reduce the number of psychiatric inpatient admissions from emergency departments. The program is for Molina members enrolled in Medicare and Medicaid, but not those members enrolled in the state's dual eligible financial alignment demonstration called MI Health Link. During 2015, Common Ground served 46 Molina members. The services were responsible for a 33% reduction in psychiatric inpatient admissions among Molina members from the emergency department.
