New York To Provide $7.5 Million For Low-Threshold Buprenorphine Services, Plans To Select 15 Organizations For Funding
New York State is providing up to $7.5 million to expand access to comprehensive, low-threshold buprenorphine treatment services for people with opioid use disorder (OUD). The programs will be located in each of the 10 Empire State Development Regions. They will provide same-day, immediate enrollment in buprenorphine treatment and care management services. The programs will assess the individuals for diagnostic criteria for OUD and, as appropriate, provide a buprenorphine prescription for at least a 14-day duration. With the prescription, the individual will be educated about buprenorphine dosing for initiation and stabilization. The prescriptions may be filled . . .
