Reincarceration Four Times Higher At Private Community Corrections Facilities In Pennsylvania
Among a group of 7,204 Pennsylvania prisoners released in 2008, the odds of reincarceration by 2012 were four times higher for those who were assigned to a privately-run community corrections facility (CCF) during reentry compared to those who were assigned to a state-run community corrections center (CCC). The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) data indicates that overall about 60% of released offenders will be reincarcerated within four years.
