Optum Behavioral Health & UnitedHealthcare Launch Integrated Pain & Depression Program
On April 7, 2015, Optum's behavioral health business announced it was expanding an integrated Pain and Depression Program in collaboration with its sister company UnitedHealthcare. The program launched in 2014 as a pilot for members covered by both companies who are diagnosed with chronic pain and who are at-risk of high cost service utilization. Early outcomes from the pilot indicate that 43% of those enrolled had a 50% or greater reduction in depression severity.
