Pennsylvania Court Halts New Medicaid Managed Care Rollout & Reissues RFP
On July 19, 2016, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) halted the rollout of the new Medicaid HealthChoices managed care contracts due to a court ruling on a bid protest. On July 21, 2016, DHS rebid the HealthChoices contracts; responses are due by September 6, 2016.
Following a competitive procurement process, on April 27, 2016, DHS announced it was in negotiations with eight Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) to set new three-year contracts for the Medicaid physical HealthChoices program slated to start in 2017.
