Pennsylvania Employees Benefit Trust Fund Selects Aetna To Manage State Employee & Non-Medicare Retiree Health Benefits

Completing a competitive bid process, the Pennsylvania Employees Benefit Trust Fund (PEBTF) selected Aetna, a CVS Health company, to provide medical benefits to approximately 68,000 eligible commonwealth employees and their dependents, and 11,000 non-Medicare-eligible commonwealth retiree members and their dependents. The start date for the Retired Employees Health Program (REHP), which the PEBTF administers on behalf of the commonwealth, is January 1, 2026. The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed. The current plans will be in effect through the end of 2025.
