Pennsylvania Medicaid Health Plans Out To Bid With New Focus On Physical/Behavioral Coordination

On September 16, 2015, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) released a request for proposals (RFP 06-15) seeking managed care organizations to operate the Medicaid HealthChoices physical health program. A key focus in the RFP is improving care coordination between physical and carved-out behavioral health services. The RFP also adds value-based purchasing (VBP) requirements to the health plans.
