Pennsylvania Adds Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services To Medicaid State Plan
Pennsylvania Medicaid added psychiatric rehabilitation services (PRS) as a state plan service effective January 1, 2026. Prior to that date, PRS was available only to Medicaid beneficiaries enrolled in a Medicaid Behavioral Health HealthChoices managed care plan and was offered as an “in lieu of” service.
Going forward, PRS is available as a state plan service to Medicaid beneficiaries in both the fee-for-service and Behavioral Health HealthChoices delivery systems.
