On February 1, 2024, the Providence, Rhode Island City Council approved a site for an opioid overdose prevention center as a safe injection site through a resolution authorizing Project Weber/RENEW as operator with clinical partner VICTA. Located inside the CODAC Behavioral Healthcare building, the "harm reduction center" site will become one of only three places in the U.S. where people who use drugs can come and inject narcotics under medical supervision.
