Remote Support Program With Dietitian Helps Decrease Blood Pressure In 12 Weeks
Participants in a 12-week web-based remote support program that included weekly motivational interviewing calls with a dietitian decreased their blood pressure more than participants who used the web-based program alone. The group that used the web program and received weekly calls also had greater improvement on secondary cardiometabolic outcomes than those who used only the web-based program.
The participants who had dietitian support had an average 6.92 point decrease in their sleeping systolic blood pressure reading. Their diastolic blood pressure reading declined by an average of 3.31 points.
