Rhode Island Overhauling Procurement & Contract Management In Department Of Children, Youth & Families

On July 30, 2015, Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo ordered an overhaul of the state Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) procurement and contract management practices to improve the department’s financial management. The goal is to address contracting inefficiencies and weaknesses in contract oversight identified by the state auditor following an audit that started in January 2015, and to implement recommendations made in January 2015 by the Rhode Island Senate Task Force on the Department of Children, Youth and Families & The Family Care Networks.
