SCAN Group launched a new medical group for unhoused seniors—Healthcare in Action (HIA) on January 1, 2022. The medical group, based in Los Angeles, provides health care and other wrap-around services to unhoused individuals over the age of 55.

The HIA program is a “street medicine” model—offering services in the streets or encampments.
