On September 5, 2014, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced an “early access initiative” that will allow small employers in Delaware, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri and New Jersey to have early access to the the Federally Facilitated Small Business Health Options Program (FF-SHOP) portal through healthcare.gov, starting in October 2014. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) FF-SHOP Early Access initiative will provide feedback on FF-SHOP functionality for small employers purchase employer-sponsored health insurance benefits online. The feedback will then be used to improve the portal before the 2015 open enrollment period . . .
