After being selected to share in grant funding of $45.5 million, 13 South Carolina hospitals are creating specialized hospital-based behavioral health crisis emergency and observational units for children and adults. The grant funds are intended to be used for one-time infrastructure costs to create capacity for short-term evaluation and crisis stabilization, with separate areas for children and adults.
