South Dakota Medicaid Seeks Five-Year Extension Of 1115 Waiver For Former Foster Care Youth
The South Dakota Medicaid program plans to extend its demonstration waiver to provide Medicaid benefits to youth under age 26 who were formerly in foster care. The state submitted a waiver extension on October 20, 2022, asking the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for approval to run the program through April 30, 2028.
