On November 22, 2019, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) issued a request for proposals (RFP 696-PS-20-P005) to establish a pilot “technology-assisted” opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment program. Proposals are due by January 3, 2020. The pilot services would be for 25 offenders per year with OUD who are leaving TDCJ custody and returning to a rural county or non-urban area. The initial firm fixed-price contract term runs through August 31, 2020, followed by a one-year renewal option through August 31, 202I.
