Three Pennsylvania School Districts Sue After State Extends Special Education Eligibility Through Age 22
In July 2023, three Pennsylvania school districts sued the state Department of Education (PDE) after the state enacted a new policy that extended special education eligibility to students with disabilities up to age 22. The three districts are: Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS), Central Bucks School District, and Upper Darby School District.
