U.S. Death Rates Increase Due To Suicide, Drug Overdoses & Alzheimer’s
Death rates in the United States increased by 0.67% between 2014 and 2015. The age-adjusted death rate increased from an average of 724.6 per 100,000 people in 2014 to an average of 729.5 deaths per 100,000 in 2015. The increase was due in part to higher rates of fatal drug overdoses, suicide, and complications related to Alzheimer’s disease.
