Uber Partners With MedStart & HackensackUMC to Provide Non-Emergency Medical Transportation

In 2016, Uber, an on-demand ride service, partnered with MedStar Health in the Baltimore-District of Columbia area and the Hackensack University Medical Center (HackensackUMC) to provided non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) for consumers. MedStar Health’s partnership launched in January 2016; the goal is to reduce missed appointments. The HackensackUMC partnership was announced in April 2016; the goal is to make health care more accessible to its consumers, team members and visitors.
