Protests Filed Over Humana & HealthNet TRICARE Awards

On September 12, 2016, three bidders for the next round of TRICARE managed care contracts filed separate bid protests to the awards, which were announced on July 21, 2016. Following a competitive procurement issued in 2015, the Defense Health Agency (DHA), Military Health System (MHS) selected two contract winners – Humana Government Business, Inc. for the East region contract, valued at $40.5 billion over six years; and Health Net Federal Services, LLC for the West region contract, valued at $17.7 billion over six years.
